Unboxing: Mommy Mundo Journey Box (Smiles and Tickles)

4:46 PM

I've been meaning to get a Mommy Mundo Privilege Passport for awhile now, but kept putting it off. After reading about Sun Life's P.A.TXT Card, though, I decided to go ahead and get one.

The Mommy Mundo Privilege Passport Card (2017 edition) costs P500 (plus P100 shipping if you live in Metro Manila).  This already includes free entrance to Mommy Mundo events, a Mom 24/7 planner (for pick-up at their Expo Mom Holiday event in November), discounts and priviliges from partner brands, Personal Accident Insurance from Sun Life, and a complimentary Mommy Mundo Journey Box.

There are four Journey Boxes you can choose from: Soon-to-be-Mommy Box (for expectant mothers), Welcome to Motherhood Box (for those with newborns), Smiles and Tickles Box (for moms with toddlers), and the Hello, Kiddo! Box (for those with kids preschool-aged and above).

I ordered from their website last July 10. The website states that orders usually arrive within 1-3 business days. It arrived at my house on the second business day.

The package was shipped via Fastrack.

It's a fairly big box, measuring approximately 25.5 cm x 28 cm x 7 cm (10 " x 11" x 3"). This is what the box looks like upon opening. I had to flip the envelope over, however, because it's personalized.

Here's a better look at all the products together.

Now for a closer look at the items.

First up are products from Messy Bessy. These are the Bug Repellant Cologne (100 ml) and the Dish + Bottle Cleaner (200 ml).

The Bug Repellant Cologne is touted as "skin-safe and deet-free." Ingredients listed are: "Purified water, sugarcane alcohol, citronella, andiroba, essential oils (Bergamot, Vanilla, and Eucalyptus)." The Dish + Bottle Cleaner, on the other hand, is marketed as food-safe and can actually be used as fruit and veggie wash. Its ingredients are: "Purified water, coconut-based cleaners (Potassium Cocoate, Monoethanolamide Coconut Amide), Sodium Chloride, and Essential Oils (Chamomile and Lavander)." Included in the box is a brochure with prices for Messy Bessy's other products.

I've used Messy Bessy products before, and my experience with their products has been positive, so I can't wait to try these out.

Next is the Belo Baby Bundle, which contains a Hair and Body Wash (200 ml) and a Hand Sanitizer (Peach) (50 ml).

For moms who are wary of allergens or too many chemicals in household products, the Hair and Body Wash's packaging assures parents and caregivers that it is "Absolutely free of SLS, sulfates, parabens, phthalates, dyes, sodium chloride, formaldehyde, MEA, DEA, TEA & most common allergens." Meanwhile, the Hand Sanitizer is "Absolutely free of triclosan, benzalkonium chloride, quats, parabens, glycols, chlorine, formaldehyde carriers, petrochemicals, and most common allergens."

I've never used Belo Baby products before, but I have heard good things about them, so I'm eager to try these too.

Next, we have three products I have actually used before: Cradle Baby Bottle & Nipple Cleanser (35 ml), tiny buds Liquid Laundry Wash for Babies (travel size), and Cycles Mild Laundry Detergent for Babies (40g). These are sample/travel-size items, but if this is your first time trying the products, there's probably enough here for you to gauge if it's something you'd like to use again.

There's also a sample box containing one small tube each of Cycles Sensitive Protective Diaper Cream and Cycles Sensitive Baby Lotion. My son rarely uses diapers these days since he's potty-trained already, but I'll definitely give the Baby Lotion a try.

This beautiful green bag contains a lot of items. These are: Salinase Max (30 ml), 5 tubes of Xylogel (5 ml), 2 ref magnets, a ballpen, 2 pocket calendars, and a notepad.

My son has used Salinase before when his pedia prescribed it, so this is a welcome product for the next time he has a bad cold and his pedia ends up recommending using Salinase again. My son no longer needs Xylogel, though, so I'll probably give it to the same mom friend I'm planning on giving the diaper cream to.

There's also a Mos Repel Natural Mosquito Repellent Patch (12 patches). I don't recall encountering this product before, but I am pretty curious to find out if it's effective.

Now we move on to the products meant mainly for moms. The first one is Mega-Malunggay, which is a food supplement.

The next is the product that piqued my interest in the Mommy Mundo Passport: the Sun Life Financial P.A.TXT Personal Accident Insurance Card. The amount of insurance is worth P50,000.00 and covers accidental death, dismemberment, and loss of sight. There are exclusions, however. The insurance does not cover those coming from certain professions (e.g. construction workers, security guards, etc.) and if the cause (direct or indirect) of death or dismemberment is found in their list of exclusions (e.g. pregnancy, childbirth, poison, war, earthquake, etc.).

There are also a few coupons/gift certificate included in the box: P300 gift certificate to Fluffy Pwets, P150 worth of Style Me Little products, and a gift (with purchase) from Love You Mom.

Last but not least is the Mommy Mundo passport.

Overall, I'd definitely call this a good buy. The cost of the products in the box plus the Mom Planner (even though you have to get it at the Expo Mom Holiday event) already makes the P500+shipping cost worth it.
