I really enjoy choosing gifts because I love the challenge of finding the perfect gift for each person. If you know a person well enough or at least have some idea about their hobbies and interests, you should be okay. However, what if you have to give a gift to someone and you're completely stumped about what to get them? Here are some fool-proof gift giving ideas for all occasions.
There are some people who are just really had to shop for. Usually it's either because we're not really sure what their interests are or because they seem to have everything you can think of. When you don't know what to give, you should consider getting them gift certificates.
Personally, I prefer Sodexo Premium Pass/Sodexo Gift Check/Sodexo Gift Certificates because lots of businesses accept them. I'm not talking about just restaurants, supermarkets and stores. You can also use Sodexo GCs at hotels (such as Microtel and The Legend Villas) and Air Asia! So whatever your recipients' interests are, there's a very, very good chance that they'll be able to use these GCs for that.
Sodexo Premium Passes and SM Gift Passes can be bought at GCRegalo. Gift passes are sold by P500s but you can opt to get them in denominations of P100 instead of just one P500 Gift Pass.
GCRegalo offers free shipping for a minimum P2,000 order so if you're planning on gifting GCs to a lot of people or even just to one person, you can take advantage of their offer. Buying from GCRegalo is easy too, since they offer Visa, Mastercard, Bancnet and Over-the-Counter payment options. You can choose the envelope the gift certificates will be shipped in and there's an option for you to add a personal message as well. The best part? They will deliver the gift certificates directly to your recipient. This is especially useful if it's for an occasion or event that you won't be able to attend but you feel like you should send a gift anyway.
Aside from Sodexo Premium Passes and SM Gift Passes, you can also buy Rustan's Supermarket, Shopwise & Wellcome, and Walter Mart Gift Passes from GCRegalo.
SUBSCRIPTIONS
a) Magazine subscriptions
Does your gift recipient love reading magazines, especially digital ones? You can visit Summit Newstand and choose magazine subscriptions for apps like Buqo and pressreader, or visit MEGA Publishing Group's subscription page to subscribe to any of their magazines. If you're unsure which specific magazines they would be interested in or they prefer foreign magazine editions, you can always opt for a Magzter gift card.

b) Spotify
Is your gift recipient a music lover? Spotify offers gift cards. They are available in 1 month (P129), 3 months (P387), 6 months (P774), and 12 months (P1,548) options. For more information, click here. Please note that the country registered in the recipient's account must be the same as the country where the gift card was purchased.
d) Subscription boxes
It's always nice to have something to look forward to every month, and subscription box subscriptions, as they say, are the gift that keeps on giving. Not all subscription boxes currently available in the Philippines have options for users to gift a subscription, though. I've included a few subscription box providers below who do offer gifting options, but please note that gift cards sometimes go out of stock or gifting options are disabled for whatever reason.
BDJBox
This is the perfect box for makeup and skincare lovers. The boxes seem pricey (P3,680 for the BDJ Box Luxe Red Carpet Ready to P7,430 for the BDJ Box Luxe Bundle), but the products included are mostly full-sized and from high-end brands like Shiseido and Elizabeth Arden. To gift a box, just click on the box of your choice from the shop and tick the box that says "I'm sending this as a gift." If the boxes exceed your budget, you can opt to send other products from their shop instead. These products' prices range from P70 to P670.
Giltbox (formerly Saladbox)
Giltbox features beauty and lifestyle products. Saladbox gift cards are available in P1,000, P2,000 and P3,000 denominations, which can be used for both the Giltbox shops (Women's and Men's) and subscription boxes (Women's and Men's).
Raw Bites
Raw Bites is a subscription box that specializes in healthy snacks. There are three types of boxes/subscription plans available. The trial box contains up to 8 snacks and is just for one month. The regular box (up to 10 snacks) and premium box (up to 15 healthy snacks) are available in monthly, 3-month, 6-month, and annual plans. Gift cards are available in the following options: Trial (P945), Regular (P1,345), and Premium (P1,945).
Blockhaul
Is your recipient a fan of geeky stuff? Blockhaul is a quarterly box that is perfect for them. When buying a mystery box, you can opt to have it sent to your recipient's shipping address. If you have any additional instructions, there's a text box labeled "Any Special Request?" you can use before adding the mystery box to your cart. Boxes cost P2,000 each and includes a vinyl figure and t-shirt.
